Dear friends,
Just wanted to send out a reminder for the webinar event later today, in which we’ll tackle issues of care and medical ethics that are deeply related to issues of community and caregiving we’ve considered in the past. Charlie’s book is about neurological diversity, about caregiving from birth to death, and about what it means to prioritize human dignity in a “throwaway culture.”
Would love to hear from those of you for whom issues of elderly and/or child care is an immediate and pressing need—but I’m also planning to talk to Charlie about his vision for a Consistent Life Ethic (CLE) and his writings on throwaway culture. These include an expansive (and, I would argue, vital) consideration of Christian ethics and how it applies to issues of political policy and environmental stewardship in our time.
Register at the link below!
I missed it. Any chance the recording will be available?
So looking forward to this. I’ve been listening to Charles’s new book on audible this weekend and it could not be more timely, with my father having been in hospital and our having wrangles over DNR protocols, and my mother entering a specialist dementia care home. Thank you so much, Gracy, for having this conversation.
